The Los Angeles Lakers finished with the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference playoff picture. With that seed, they are now set to face off against Anthony Edwards and the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
Going up against the Timberwolves will be no easy task. Minnesota is a good basketball team that will present some challenges.
JJ Redick, the Lakers’ head coach, spoke out briefly about the matchup.
“Very difficult opponent,” he said. “They’ve played as well as anyone lately and I believe they’re one of four teams in the top 10 in offense and defense. They present a lot of problems.”
Ahead of Game 1 on Saturday night, Los Angeles has sent a confident two-word message about facing the Timberwolves.

“We’re ready,” the team posted on its official X account.
Both teams have elite star power. For the Lakers, Luka Doncic and LeBron James are ready to make a championship push. Edwards is looking to play the villain role that he played in last year’s playoff run for Minnesota.
Heading into the series, all eyes will be on Los Angeles to see what kind of defense they can play. The Lakers are going to have their hands full with Edwards and a Timberwolves’ offense that can be very difficult to defend.
Fans have been commenting about the coming series on social media as well.
“If the Lakers don’t win in at least 6 it’s a disappointment,” one fan wrote.
“Lakers in 6. LeBron and AD’s experience gives them the edge, but Ant and Gobert will make it a battle,” a second commented.
A third comment said, “Lakers in six, if not five. Luka will not lose this series.”
On Saturday night, Los Angeles and Minnesota are scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. on ABC.
